What’s the difference between a virtual classroom and a webinar?

With all training and education programmes moving online, it’s easy to mix up the digital learning terms webinar or virtual classroom.

Let’s explore the difference between the two of them.

Virtual Classroom

virtual classroom is an interactive live online session, which is used to achieve specific learning objectives as part of an overall programme or learning experience.

Webinar

webinar is a live online briefing or online seminar session used to deliver information to a large number of people in real life.

This means that a virtual classroom is designed with the purpose of facilitating a learning experience for a small group, while the purpose of a webinar is to deliver information or updates to a large group.
