Course Outline

Along with a certificate from the Digital Learning Institute, this course qualifies for ATD CPD learning points and supports professional development for CPTD and APTD certification.

This session introduces the essentials of Instructional Design in Articulate Storyline, guiding participants through creating their first interactive project.

What you'll learn:

  • Learning Design or Page Turning?

    Introduction to basic Instructional Design (ID) principles. Use of the Absorb, Do, Connect (ADC) approach and the role of a storyboard.

  • Introducing Storyline

    An overview of the key features of Storyline and the Storyline workflow. Exploring the ‘Story View’ and ‘Slide View’.

  • Your First Storyline Project (Practice Project)

    Creating a new project and setting the story size. Previewing and viewing in different screen sizes.

  • Editing the Storyline Player

    Editing the Storyline player. Managing the player functions.

  • Working with the Timeline

    Controlling the slide timing and working with animations.

  • Working with Characters and the Content Library

    Working with Storyline characters and using the Content Library.

  • Working with Markers

    Using markers to build simple click to reveal interactions.

  • Working with Slide Layers and Triggers

    Working with slide layers and triggers to build more complex click to reveal interactions.

  • Working with Questions and Quizzes

    Inserting question slides. Using different types of feedback. Using quizzes for learning challenges. Using a results slide.

  • Publishing and Using Articulate Review

    Publishing for client review.

He was a Director and Chair of the eLearning Network, LN, and is a Chair of Judges for the annual Learning Technology Awards. He speaks regularly at industry conferences.
