When: October 28, 1-2.30PM GMT / 9-10.30AM EST
Where: Live online, 90 minutes
Join Megan Torrance, founder and CEO of TorranceLearning, for a live, hands-on Data & Analytics Hackathon built for L&D professionals who want to move from "we think it's working" to "here's what the data shows."
Megan is one of the field's leading voices on turning learning data into real decisions. She helped pioneer Agile project management for instructional design, drove much of the industry's adoption of xAPI, and has spent more than 25 years helping organizations connect learning strategy to actual performance outcomes. She's the author of Data & Analytics for Instructional Designers, Agile for Instructional Designers, and the newly released AI Implementation Guide for L&D. On the 28th, she's bringing that expertise straight into the room with you.
Here's the session: you'll join a group of up to four and step into a new role, Director of Learning & Devel-goat-ment at G.O.A.T. Yoga, a rapidly growing wellness company, for goats. Think Power Hoof, Hot Goat Yoga, and a company-wide policy against unscheduled headbutting.
Behind the fun is a genuinely hard measurement problem. G.O.A.T. Yoga's leadership wants to know if their year-old instructor training program is working, and the answer isn't obvious from the data sitting in front of them. It's the same question most of us are quietly avoiding about our own programs. Your team will pick one of three real challenges L&D leaders face constantly:
Measurement: what should we actually measure, and why? (using a modified LTEM framework)
Data instrumentation: how would we feasibly know, across 200+ locations?
Data analysis: what does a year of evidence really tell leadership, and what's the recommendation?
In 90 minutes, you'll choose a track, work the problem with your team, and present your recommendation live for feedback in the room.
