I work as an E-learning Assistant at Robert Gordon University. What started as a support role quickly evolved during the pandemic, with a growing need to develop e-learning resources for students. It became clear that I needed formal training to structure and enhance these courses, which led me to the Professional Diploma in Digital Learning Design with the Digital Learning Institute.
How DLI Transformed My Role
The DLI course was a game-changer for me. It provided the framework and skills I needed to confidently develop courses from start to finish. Going from no formal background to having a structured approach was invaluable. The support from fellow coursemates and the exposure to new e-learning tools made a big impact on how I now approach my work.
Impact on the University
The course helped us focus on improving the student experience as we transitioned to a hybrid learning model. We’ve made significant progress in developing better e-learning materials, and the future looks promising for enhancing what we offer to students.
Why I Chose DLI
The flexibility of the online format was a major factor. Being able to study on my own time while working full-time was crucial. Plus, a mentor recommended DLI, and I was impressed with the course’s reputation and structure.
My Learning Experience
The modules were well-structured, making it easy to follow and build my knowledge step by step. The feedback was timely and constructive, which made the learning process even better. It was great to connect with other students and share experiences along the way.
My Advice: Just Go For It
If you're on the fence, don’t hesitate. It can be intimidating to start something new, but taking it step by step will get you there. You’re capable of more than you think!
